I have come to the conclusion that the only way I can get the watch looking right is to try and source a high quality after market bezel to give the watch back some of its originality, albeit not original .The reference 6542 was able to accomplish Pan-Am’s requirement for a second-time zone display by adding a 24-hour hand and a rotating bezel to the GMT-Master’s self-winding movement. The most sought after Rolex GMT Master is the original, reference 6542. It's instantly recognizable by the Bakelite bezel, long and slim hand for the second timezone, and the lack of crown guards on the case. Typically though, they still follow the same red and blue.
