Last week when I wound it I was surprised to get a grinding, gritty feel from the crown! First couple winds after the crown popped out felt almost like it has grains of sand in the movement. The grinding feeling was not continuous either, sometimes its smoother and then it feels gritty again. In my experience, all three of my Rolex watches have that 'gritty' feeling when winding when already fully wound. If they haven’t been worn in a day two, I begin to wind and the winding function is buttery smooth.

I currently have a problem with my 116500Ln Panda which come with 4130 movement, I felt gritty when I winding. Is it normal for all Rolex movements, because overwinding or any issue with movement? Thank you! A Rolex 3130 movement will click while hand winding and depending on lubrication and speed of winding you may at times hear a slight rasp. The grittiness after a full wind is normal as it’s the clutch slipping as others have pointed out. I've recently noticed that when I wind my DJ, the winding motions feels a little gritty. Like I feel resistance, which I know is normal, but not sure if the gritty feeling is expected or not. Watch seems to be running fine and no weird sounds, but I want to see if this is expected.

My Milgauss sometimes winds like butter and other times it gets gritty. It seems to come and go and the watch runs perfectly so I haven't worried about it. I just chalk it up to the occasional piece of grit in the stem seals. My Rolex used to wind buttery smooth but now sounds extremely grainy and crunchy when winding. Not only that but every 3 or 4 turns it feels as if there is resistance that tries to stop the winding but is over come with force. Is it . The manual wind used to be buttery smooth but now, even when the mainspring is totally unwound, it feels very gritty and tight to wind (almost as it is slipping when reaching max wind but again this is from a complete dead stop). Last year I started to notice a gritty resistance when winding the watch slowly. It feels like some friction between metal. I took the watch to an AD, and they spent two minutes fixing it by "demagnetizing" the watch.

The feeling may be something as simple as a little stiction between the crown gasket and the case tube and not a mechanical issue at all. Hold the watch up to your ear and wind it slowly. Listen for "normal" winding noises versus any grinding or similar sounds. Last week when I wound it I was surprised to get a grinding, gritty feel from the crown! It is a progression guide, so you know what to do depending on your ipwr. I think its good to start with Nightmare 1, and just progress through the levels untill you hit a level you cant beat anymore. Go farm on the previous levels for items, untill you can figure out a way to get through the next map. Also, small tip.
